Sketmi is a browser based text to diagram tool for quickly creating flowcharts and architecture diagrams by typing plain text. Users can enter simple syntax such as A -> B: label and see connected nodes appear in a live preview while they type. The tool is designed for speed and avoids the need to drag shapes, position boxes, or manage connectors manually. Sketmi supports two visual styles, including a hand drawn Sketch mode and a clean corporate Clean mode. Users can define different node shapes, including database cylinders, actor figures, decision diamonds, origin circles, and grouped boxes. Its automatic layered layout arranges diagrams from left to right and reduces overlapping connections. Diagrams can be downloaded as PNG files with or without a background, exported as SVG, or copied directly to the clipboard for use in documents, messaging tools, and workspaces. The complete diagram is encoded in a shareable URL, so diagrams can be sent to others without accounts or login requirements. The service includes eight editable examples, a syntax guide, browser auto save, recent diagrams, and an embed option for read only canvases. Sketmi works in modern desktop and mobile browsers and is free to use with no signup, installation, paid tier, watermark, or locked export.
